Jim Hofer started out as an apprentice carpenter in 1976, working for one of the top contractors in the Dallas / Fort Worth area. In 1981 he started his own carpentry business, focusing on high-end custom homes. Recognizing the demand for high quality shutters, he added custom built shutters to his services, perfecting his craft with each installation. In 1988 he expanded his services to building custom shutters for homeowners and was joined by his son Jason in 2000.

With close to forty years in the field, including over thirty years' experience and hundreds of installations of custom tailored shutters, Hofer Wood Interior has a substantial track record.
